Daily Itinerary

Day 1 & 2: (Sunday - Monday, 05 - 06 March, 2017) – Enroute

Report to Houston Intercontinental Airport by 8:00 p.m. and proceed to ticketing counter.  Depart Houston, TX on our flight to Taipei.  Lose one day crossing the International Dateline.

Day 3: (Tuesday, 07 March, 2017) – Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)

After a short layover in Taipei, we depart for Vietnam.  We arrive at Ho Chi Minh City's Tan Son Nhut Airport will pass by the old MACV HQ, the U.S. Army's 3rd Field Hospital on the way to the center of the city and our hotel.  After a short rest and shower we visit the War Remnants Museum, Reunification Hall, and the Binh Thanh Market.  Tonight we enjoy our Welcome Dinner.

Day 4: (Wednesday, 08 March, 2017) – Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)

This morning we are up early and heading northwest to Tay Ninh to visit the Cau Dai Temple for the Noon Ceremony.  We will pass near Nui Ba Den (Black Virgin Mountain).  After lunch, we will visit the Cu Chi Tunnels complex.  On our way back to Saigon we will pass close to the Iron Triangle and through the Hobo Woods.

Day 5: (Thursday, 09 March, 2017) – Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) to Qui Nhon to Quang Ngai

This morning we take an early morning flight to Qui Nhon, where we will board our bus and head north along Highway 1 towards Quang Ngai.  Along the way we will pass Bong Son, LZ English, Duc Pho, LZ Bronco, Mo Duc, Sa Huynh, Ba To and My Lai 4.  Afterwards we will check into our hotel in Quang Ngai.

Day 6: (Friday, 10 March, 2017) – Quang Ngai

Today we will visit San Juan Hill.

Day 7: (Saturday, 11 March, 2017) – Quang Ngai to Tam Ky

Today we continue our drive north along Highway 1.  We will visit LZ Bayonet, Chu Lai, Ky Ha, Americal Division HQ, LZ Professional, Fat City and Hawk Hill before arriving in Tam Ky for the evening.

Today we visit Hiep Duc, LZ Siberia, Nui Loc Son, Binh Son, and LZ West.

Today we visit LZ Ross and areas west to Antenna Valley (Dragon Valley) and LZ Baldy.

Day 12: (Thursday, 16 March, 2017) – Hoi An

Today is a well-deserved free day to relax by the pool or beach.  Or you may want to roam by yourselves the streets and shops of this ancient port city, formerly known as Faifo, where Dutch, Portuguese, Chinese, and Japanese traders once walked.  Shopping is excellent here and is one of the best places for tailor-made clothing.  There are literally hundreds of amazing little shops in this town.  Lunch and dinner are on our own to sample some the many local restaurants and night spots.

Day 13: (Friday, 17 March, 2017) – Hoi An to Da Nang

This morning we head north to Marble Mountain where we visit a marble carving shop and climb Marble Mountain to explore the VC hospital area located deep within.  Continuing north we drive through the old Marble Mountain Air Facility (MMAF), stop at China Beach on the South China Sea before checking into our hotel on the Han River.

Day 14: (Saturday, 18 March, 2017) – Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh City

After breakfast, we head to Da Nang Airfield for our flight to Ho Chi Minh City.  After lunch, we prepare for the journey home and more last-minute shopping.

Day 15: (Sunday, 19 March, 2017) – Departure

After breakfast, we transfer to the airport for the flight to Taipei.  Departing from Taipei, we gain a day enroute to the continental United States by re-crossing the International Dateline, arriving in Houston at approximately 11:05 p.m. this same day.
