Day 1 & 2: (Sunday - Monday, 2 - 3 May) – Enroute
Report to Los Angeles International Terminal by 7:00 pm and proceed to ticketing counter. Depart Los Angeles on our flight to Taipei. Lose one day crossing the International Dateline..
Day 3: (Tuesday, 4 May) – SAIGON
After a short stop in Taipei, we land in Tan Son Nhut Airfield before noon and transfer to our hotel. After lunch, we explore a few key sites in Ho Chi Minh City (still referred to most Vietnamese as Saigon). Afterwards we enjoy our Welcome Dinner.

Day 4: (Wednesday, 5 May) – SAIGON
Today we drive west to Tay Ninh Province. Along the way we will stop to explore the tunnel complex at Cu Chi. Continuing on to Tay Ninh we will see Nui Ba Den (Black Virgin Mountain) in the distance. Once in Tay Ninh, we will visit the Cao Dai Temple before returning to Saigon for the evening where you are free to relax or to roam the old Tu Do Street (now Dong Khoi Street) in search of great souvenirs.

Day 5: (Thursday, 6 May) – SAIGON to DA LAT
Today we drive north on Highway 20 to Da Lat. Our drive will be broken up by stops at some of the tea and coffee plantations. We will stop for lunch at the picturesque Ponguar waterfalls, about 15km from the highway. Here you may have the opportunity of having your photo taken next to an elephant. We then continue on to Da Lat.

Day 6: (Friday, 7 May) – DA LAT
This morning we will visit the Thien Vien Truc Lam pagoda and Tuyen Lam Lake. We will visit the Bao Dai waterfall and picnic area and have lunch there. After lunch we will visit the Chinese pagoda, Thien Vuong Co Sat pagoda, Minh Nguyet Cu Si Lam, Than Tho lake, Doi Thong Hai Mo and Ai An forest. Go shopping in Da Lat market. Have dinner with special mountainous dishes.

Day 7: (Saturday, 8 May) – DA LAT to NHA TRANG
Early this morning we head east on Highway 11 and out of the mountains. Reaching the South China Sea, we come upon Phan Rang Airfield and take time to visit important sites here, as well as sites further north around Cam Ranh Bay. Continuing north on Highway 1, we pull into Nha Trang as darkness falls and check into our hotel.

Day 8: (Sunday, 9 May) – NHA TRANG
Today we make the short drive up to Ninh Hoa, after which we continue north to visit Tuy Hoa being sure to take the time needed to explore. Later we return to Nha Trang for a well-deserved rest and maybe a swim.

Day 9: (Monday, 10 May) – NHA TRANG to DA NANG
After a leisurely morning, we board our 1205 PM flight to Da Nang. Arriving 1-hour 15-minutes later, we check into our hotel and are on our own to experience the many restaurants and nightlife offered in Da Nang.

Day 10: (Tuesday, 11 May) – DA NANG
After breakfast we visit a marble carving shop and climb Marble Mountain to visit the VC Hospital cave deep within. Afterwards we can go for a swim call at China Beach. The balance of the afternoon is free. This evening we are again on our own for dinner.

Day 11: (Wednesday, 12 May) – DA NANG to HUE
Leaving very early, we pass through Dog Patch on our way north. Our first stops are Red Beach II and Nam O Bridge. We then start up the Hai Van Pass stopping at the top to explore old French bunkers and take in a parting view of Da Nang and the bay. Continuing down the Hai Van, we stop at several interesting sites along the way prior to entering Hue (the old Imperial Capital of Vietnam). After lunch, we study the 1968 Tet Offensive battles for Hue by walking the southern battle areas. We follow the battle action at important sites such as the old Shell Gas Station, the former MACV Compound, Hue University, Treasury, Public Health Building, Provincial Capital Building area, and the Church of the Redemptress.

Day 12: (Thursday, 13 May) – HUE
This morning we take a relaxing dragon boat cruise up the beautiful Perfume River to the Thien Mu Pagoda and the Tu Duc Tombs. We return to lunch and use the balance of the afternoon to explore the Citadel with its ramparts and towers, and visit sites specific to the 1968 Tet Offensive northern battle for Hue, including the Chuck Meadows and Dong Ba Gates and the phase lines. We finish at the Imperial Palace gate, which when blown open, allowed the ARVN to enter and lower the NVA flag that had flown from the main flagpole for 24 days. We then visit the Forbidden City, home to the ancient emperors.

Day 13: (Friday, 14 May) – HUE to HANOI
This morning we take an early morning flight to Hanoi, upon arrival, we will board our motorcoach and cross the Red River and its dikes to explore the Hanoi environs. We visit the Ho Chi Minh House, the One Pillar Pagoda, the Hoa Lo Prison (Hanoi Hilton), and the John McCain Memorial. This evening we enjoy a visit (mission permitting) to the Marine House, home of the U.S. Marine Corps Security Guard responsible for the protection of the U.S. Ambassador and the American Embassy. Tonight we gather for our very special Farewell Dinner.

Day 14: (Saturday, 15 May) – Departure
After a leisurely breakfast, we transfer to Hanoi's Noi Bai Airfield for our short flight to Taipei. We depart from Taipei, re-cross the International Dateline, and land in Los Angeles this same day at approximately 3:30pm.
